Typical Wheeler Weather
August is a rainy month with almost daily afternoon showers. Be prepared. Campers will need rain gear and a tent if staying overnight. Daytime temperatures in the summer are often in the 60’s but can drop dramatically when a storm moves in.
Access to Williams Lake Trail 62:
From Taos travel approximately 4 miles north on U.S. Hwy. 64 to the junction of NM State Highway 150. Proceed east on Hwy 150 to Taos Ski Valley. Continue through the ski area parking lot through the Twining Campground and right onto Twining Road. Switchback will take you to Kachina Road. The Williams Lake hiker’s parking lot is past the Bavarian Chalet, the Kachina #4 chairlift and a Black Diamond Espresso coffee shop on Kachina Road.
Directions to Williams Lake Trail Head:
The Williams Lake trailhead is 5 minutes past the coffee shop and the parking area. Follow the ski run to the trail head. From the trailhead to Williams Lake is about 3/4 of a mile.
Note: The NM Highway Department announced Hwy 68 between Epanola and Taos, which can normally be driven in about an hour and a half, is being repaved so expect delays. The “High Road to Taos,” Hwy 76, is open but is windy and a longer distance. The High Road takes approximately two hours from Espanola.
New Mexico Prayer Map

Light House Map of New Mexico
Purpose:
To concentrate the efforts of NM Prayer Connect and to build a strong comprehensive prayer network that can reach the entire state with –“The Word for New Mexico from the Lord”.
To share that word with everyone we have contact with and offer the Lighthouse map as a way of linking the people of New Mexico together,
The map has come as a result of a prayer for a blueprint that could show us the way out of the three strongholds. This map we believe is the blueprint and we offer it here as public venue so a witness may be given to the great work The Father is about to do, to see The Holy Spirits hand in this and for the fruit of the effort to be recorded for all to see.
Please refer to the post on the Word for New Mexico from the Lord the prophetic word from Dr. Leslie Keegel entered below.
That letter tells us that the church will rise up in the power of the spirit and thru a process of intense spiritual warfare…which will be dependent on how consistent and intense the prayers are. This is a way to intensify and concentrate our prayer efforts.
How to Use:
Four Things to Do
1) Covenant with the Lord to obey His word
Honor His presence
2) Repent from the shedding of ancient and present day blood of the innocent.
3) Throw down the altars of witchcraft
4) Stop worshipping the dead
Prayer: Strongholds that will be broken
1) Drug and other addiction controlled crime…evil principalities
2) Atmosphere darkening witchcraft with higher order of power is strengthening in every institution
3) Ancient and present day shedding of blood help usher in unchecked spirits of violence and restlessness.
Map:
8 prayer districts
Each district is a triangular plot radiating out from the center of the state
Each side creates a border that should have a prayer partner assigned to
Each triangle should have a cultural mix that is of the three social groups
When you pray- pray for your district and for the Holy Spirit to reveal where the 3 strongholds exist in that district. Then write them down …repent for that act and move on
Be sure to do the first 2 things the Lord said to do.
The Holy Spirit will do the rest.
Be Blessed in your prayers

Major issues are facing our state and nation. As a result, there are calls for Prayer and Fasting as the issues of same-sex marriage and abortion are coming to New Mexico.
Gender-Confused Seeking Marriage in the State
The New Mexico Supreme Court is being asked to decide if same-sex marriage violates the constitution of the state even though references to “husband – wife” and “man – woman” can be are found.
On October 23, the New Mexico Supreme Court will consider oral arguments for same-sex marriages. Voices for Family Values (www.vffv.org) has called for prayer and fasting the day before, on Tuesday, October 22.
- Please note that individuals are allowed equal protection under the law but institutions are always discriminatory: we don’t let blind people drive and we don’t let people who won’t bear arms into our army. The institution of marriage is about families and families are about procreation.
Late Term Abortion in Albuquerque: Fetal Pain Initiative
Albuquerque, New Mexico, is known as the “late term abortion capitol of the Southwest.” Abortions can be performed up to the day of birth. Spearheaded by Albuquerque Deserves Better (www.abqdeservesbetter.com), a special election for Albuquerque residents will be held on November 19 limiting abortions to 20 weeks beyond conception.
- The ordinance is known as the “Fetal Pain” bill. It has been scientifically proven that a fetus experiences excruciating pain as body parts are torn from the fetus and removed from the uterus. The “Fetal Pain” bill limits abortion to 20 weeks or prior.
Sunday, November 3, has been proclaimed a “Day of Prayer” across the state for the unborn and for this issue. Priests and Pastors are urged to address this issue from the pulpit, and we are all urged to pray.
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
Albuquerque Area Friends:
Hoffmantown Church is organizing a prayer vigil for Pastor Saeed Abedini from noon-1:00 pm on Thursday, September 26 at Civic Plaza (downtown). This is part of a nationwide prayer vigil for Pastor Abedini.
Pastor Abedini is an Iranian-American who is being imprisioned in Iran and tortured for his faith. Other believers and churches from the Albuquerque area are invited to join them next Thursday. If you cannot be there in person, please take time to join them in prayer that day. (I plan to join you in spirit, even though I will be out of town.)
Christians are increasingly facing persecution around the world. Let us pray for their strength and for God’s protection as they face severe persecution. “…But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.” (Revelation 12:12)

“Prayer with the Governor for New Mexico”
Event September 6th.

Governor Susanna Martinez meet with New Mexico children and Christian leaders from through out the state in a prayer gathering held in the Rotunda at the State Capitol. The Governor urged pray for the betterment of the welfare of New Mexico’s children.
Dr. Leslie Keegel
Vice-chairman of the Foursquare Church International
Colombo, Sri Lanka
I see three big strongholds which keeps New Mexico in bondage,
1. Drug and other addiction controlled crime. I see strong evil principalities behind this.
2. Powers of darkness of a higher order having access into almost every institution in the community. They are strengthened constantly through atmosphere darkening witchcraft.
3. Spirits of violence and of restlessness roam around the community unchecked. Their potent activity emerges through strongholds created by ancient and present day shedding of the blood of the innocent.
I see the Church though rising to her task, filled in the power of the Holy Spirit as a result of prayer support and intense spiritual warfare.
Youth and child intercessors are being raised up both locally and globally in answer to prayer of the saints for New Mexico.
I see a great spring of water breaking forth from the belly of the state. This will cause the dry and barren land to be watered. It will not remain dry or barren, for I am causing the healing streams from my Springs of life to break forth says the Lord. She will be refreshed and made fruitful for her barrenness will be healed. Crime will decrease and eventually stop, it will be through a process of much spiritual travailing and prayer . This process of deliverance from crime will speed up depending on the intensity and consistency of prayers of the Church and repentance of those who dwell in the land.
The powers of darkness will be overcome and will cease to have access into the fabric of the society. The atmosphere will light up with the glory of God showing up as civic leaders and the elders in the community seek to,honor the Lord and act in acknowledgement of God’s Holy presence; ” If my people who are called by name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn form their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land”. ( 2 Chronicles 7:14). I will open the heavens says the Lord and bless you and your land in a manner which is recorded in Deuteronomy 28 : 1 – 13. Blessed by the Lord this state will be the most fruitful state in this nation if you; 1.Covenant with the Lord to obey His word and honor His presence. 2. Repent of the the shedding of innocent blood. 3. Throw down your altars of witchcraft and 4.Cease from communicating with the dead. I will dispel darkness and death from your midst says the awesome and living God. Each home of the intercessors will be a candle lit ” light houses”, to replace darkness with God’s marvelous light. I will unite, inspire and revive the Church and bless your land through her. Your leaders will take tasks assigned to them by the state as given and commissioned by the Lord, and thereby servant leadership will emerge to break the bonds of oppression to release its people to experience true freedom, peace and reconciliation which comes from the Lord.
