Rosh Hashanah, Yom Teruah (Day of Shofar/Ram’s Horn Blowing), Yom Hazikaron (Day of Remembrance) and Yom Hadin (Day of Judgement), the Jewish New Year, actually means “Head of the Year” (it’s one of the most important holidays), begins on the Hebrew calendar dates of 1 and 2 Tishrei/September 29 at sundown – nightfall on October 1.  The shofar itself recalls the Binding of Isaac, an event that occurred on Rosh Hashanah in which a ram took Isaac’s place as an offering to God.  This holiday is also considered the anniversary of the universe, the day God created Adam and Eve, a day of judgement and coronation, proclaiming God King of the universe! READ:  Genesis 21:1-34; 22:1-24; Leviticus 23:23; 1 Samuel 1:1-2:10 & Jeremiah 31:1-19.  If you or someone you know would like to hold an event in your part of the state or in the surrounding areas, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Shalom,
Mark Tross
